OliphauntIn LotR Sam describes an Oliphaunt as an enormous beast capable of destroying anything that comes in its way. An oliphaunt is actually a common elephant. Also known as Mûmakil. The word "elephant" has transformed into "oliphaunt" through rumours travelling from the south to the north.
